When your brain won’t let go

Trauma processing for
the neurodivergent mind

You’ve spent years analyzing what happened. You’ve talked about it in therapy. You’ve broken it down logically. And you know it wasn't your fault.

Yet, your brain
keeps it on a loop.

For neurodivergent individuals, trauma doesn't just sit in the past. It lives in the present. It shows up as:

  • Sensory overwhelm triggered by old memories.

  • 'Sticky' thoughts that you can't turn off.

  • A nervous system that feels constantly 'on' or completely shut down.

If traditional therapy has felt like running in circles, it’s not because you’re 'treatment resistant.' It’s because your brain processes information differently.

Healing isn't about 'trying harder' to think positively.

It’s about updating how your brain stores the memory.

How Becky Can Help

This is for you if:

  • You identify as neurodivergent (ADHD or simply a 'differently-wired' brain).

  • You are a high-performer or professional who is 'holding it together' while struggling internally.

  • You are tired of talk therapy that leads to insight but not change.

  • You want a therapist who understands that your brain doesn't need 'fixing'. It needs the right tools to heal.

What to Expect

Your Path to a Quieter Mind

If you are neurodivergent, your brain is likely a high-speed processor. When trauma happens, that processor can get stuck on a "loop," leading to the exhausting rumination you’re experiencing now.

With Becky, therapy isn’t just "venting" or talking in circles. It is a structured, collaborative process designed to help your unique brain process the past so you can be present in the now.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Do I have to talk about every detail?

No. In fact, many neurodivergent clients find "over-talking" leads to more overwhelm. With Becky's treatment approach, you only need to share as much as you are comfortable with for the process to be effective.

2

How long does this take?

Because we are using structured protocols like EMDR and ERP, this is often more efficient than traditional talk therapy. However, we move at the speed of your nervous system. Never faster.

3

Will this process change who I am?

Not at all. Becky's goal isn't to change your neurodivergent "wiring". It’s to remove the "static" (the trauma) so you can actually enjoy being yourself.

A Client's Journey

“I had been a client of Becky’s for a few years before she introduced EMDR. Before this treatment, I would like to believe that I was for the most part stronger in emotional intelligence and self aware/able to self-soothe through past trauma. However, now, I realize that through EMDR I was not as solid as I previously perceived. This treatment opened my eyes to how deeply rooted my trauma was and how much suppressed emotions and feelings existed. She helped me to really ‘uppack’ them, walk through them and then ‘put them safely away.’ It was so complex yet simple at the same time."

About

My name is Becky Verbansky

I work with neurodivergent adults who feel like their brain has a 'sticky' relationship with the past.

You know that feeling where a traumatic event or a bad interaction just plays on a loop, and no amount of logic or talk therapy seems to turn it off? That’s not a character flaw. It’s how a differently-wired brain often processes distress.

I use structured, brain-based tools like EMDR and ERP to help you move past the 'why' and get to the 'how' of healing. We don’t just talk about the loop; we use specific protocols to actually break it, so you can finally have some mental quiet.

If you’re tired of over-analyzing and ready to start processing, I’d love to help.
